Stephane Dubé dicusses Quebec’s new amateur MMA federation + rule list (French)

Saturday night in Longueuil, Impakt Fight Night 3 served as the test run for the new ‘Federation Quebecoise d’Arts Martiaux Mixtes Amateurs‘ (FQAMMA). Post-event, I spoke to technical director Stephane Dubé about why he and Joey Benoit are launching a new federation, how it will relate to the FQBM, what rule changes they’ll be implementing, whether the venture is legal, and why promoters should be interested.

Stephane Dubé, a retired 8-4 pro MMA fighter, will serve as the new FQAMMA's techincal director. His martial arts background includes karate, BJJ, Japanese jiu-jistu, muay thai, kick boxing, and taekwondo.

The FQAMMA will require fighters to wear a helmet, and utilize smaller MMA style gloves. The ones seen here are what will be used.
