Victory MMA 2 went down Saturday night in a crowded Academie Sportive gym in the Park Extension neighbourhood of Montreal. Just under 300 fans showed up for the card’s 13 amateur fights, three of them for new Victory MMA titles.
The event’s province vs. province theme had most of the main card fights pitting Quebec talent against their Ontario counterparts.
The show opened with a tribute to recently deceased MMA coach Shawn Tompkins. The event’s promoter, Jamie McGowan, shared some of his memories with the assembled crowd, after which there was a moment of silence in his memory.
Here are the evening’s quick results. Check back in the next couple of days for post-fight interviews with new amateur champions Derek Dexter and Alex Morgan.
